Hot Stamping

Hot stamping meets the demands of the automotive industry for weight reduction combined with improved crash behaviour. For the production of high strength components, the plates are heated to approx. 950°C, formed within the tool of a special press which is connected to a cooling system and cooled down step by step.

4-column presses

4-column presses are today's standard for the hot stamping process. This type of press is equipped with four columns which connect and clamp the upper and lower beam.

4-column presses are standardized for closing forces of 630, 800, 1,000, 1,200, 1,500, 1,700, 2,000, 2,500, 3,500 and 5,000 tons.

Apart from standard 4-column presses, Gräbener also provides "closing device concepts", where the system is designed around the component. For the prototyping of parts, a 1,500 ton press and an annealing furnace are available at Gräbener Maschinentechnik.
